Michel “Checo” Pérez Mendoza is a Mexican race car driver who currently competes in Formula One for Red Bull Racing.
He has raced for Sauber, McLaren, Force India, and Racing Point in the past.
He won his maiden Formula One race at the Sakhir Grand Prix in 2020, breaking the record for the most starts before a race win with 190.
He also won his first Formula One pole position at the 2022 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, breaking the record for the most races before a first pole position (215).
Pérez has a contract with Red Bull Racing that runs until the end of the 2024 season
